AN ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE PASTOR

January 28, 2008

Dear Parish Family Members:

I have exciting news to announce.

Through 1999 and 2000, the parish began the planning of a major construction project, which was to include a new church, chapel and office complex as well as the renovation of the old church space (now called the Spirit Center) and social hall (now called the John XXIII Center ). However, cost overruns on new construction postponed the renovation part of the project – until now!

After consultation with the staff and both the Pastoral Leadership and Finance Councils, it was unanimously recommended that we seek permission from the Archbishop to complete this renovation phase. The Finance Council has a prudent financial plan to pay for this project without additional fundraising. This plan depends on your continued generosity to the Gift of the Spirit campaign and the weekly offertory.

Once permission is received, we will begin renovating the Spirit Center and John XXII Center , to begin as early as September 2008 and to be completed by the summer of 2009 in time to celebrate our 35th anniversary of the parish. As with the past building project, we will again solicit your input through town halls meetings.I will keep you informed on the status of this project.
